wtf? news of the day
The twentysomething woman was taken to hospital in the Chinese city of Zhuhai, in southern Guangdong province, completely deaf in her left ear after the smooch.
'The kiss reduced pressure in the mouth, pulled the eardrum out and caused the breakdown of the ear,' a medic called Dr Li told state newspaper The China Daily.
The doctor said the woman's hearing would return to normal within two or three months.
'While kissing is normally very safe, doctors advise people to proceed with caution,' the newspaper added."
ramble du jour
*btw: youtube cause i dont have a tv. But that goes with the whole student list posted below. Im not one of those people who take such pride in the fact that they dont own one or if they have one proclaim they never watch the thing or need it (yeah right)...the whole "im way to good for tv" with the excuse it'll rot your brain is just nuts (it goes with whatever explination vegetarians have to convince you that man was never meant to eat meat) ...look it depends on what you watch: discovery channel, arts channel, animal planet, news (??), shall do all from that..but yet again what type of normal person doesnt want to enjoy watching some random film on tv when they had "one of those days"..
...but when u dont own a Tv due to other reasons (e.g: $$$)...totally get how convincing yourself u are superior is needed when you KNOW that its 6 o'clock and Friends is on...and you are also going to miss the season finale of ....

Ok, REALLY RANDOM OFF TOPIC NOTE:
Dont ask when, why or how i stumbled upon this website..
http://www.geocities.com/rdoder/page2.html
Uhm...i dont intend on getting into details...but i'd just leave it by saying its well written and proably will bring up a few points/ arguments you probably havent thought of before...Im just going to throw it out there and let it be taken from there..
But i will post part of its content:
" ..in addition, it leads us to an overemphasis on female beauty that skews the way we see and approach all aspects of life. We have become accustomed to focusing mostly on superficial appearance and we miss many other things. In our eyes, multidimensional women are reduced to the one dimension of division into two categories: ugly and beautiful. That is what we mainly focus on when we indulge excessively in porn. Think about the consequences. That leads to relationships based on physical attraction. Such relationships do not last because physical beauty does not last. In addition, that overemphasis lead to cravings for the perceived beautiful women and aversion for the perceived ugly women. Both are suffering, the cravings and the aversions. A better approach to life is to know that forms change and interchange, and all forms are fundamentally the same. They are just arranged differently and look different. In addition, forms are impermanent, they never last, and they interchange over time. Thus, chasing after the perceived beautiful form is like chasing after the wind. One minute the wind is there, the next minute the wind is gone. This approach to life is to see the truth and not be blinded by the superficial. Seeing the fundamental sameness in everyone is the beginning that allows us to love everyone..."
Student living on her own
Ok..i can easily go into the 101 quirky things about being a med student (drinks more coffee than water, realized WW3 ocurred once it passed, socail isolation from all you non-med student friends), but im sure most of you have gotton the forward :)Moving on..i present to you some of the fun facts of living on your own:
* dishes: its been a whole new world. And yet some sort of grotesque inaugurationto adulthood (???) ... i'll leave it at that
* sad but true...that episode of Scrubs when they steal the pudding nailed it. I must admit with a tight budget per week and the sight of that darn brown cardboard roll starring you down as you contemplete whether to use you last few bills on the most logical purchase...or save it in case u decied to go out for a 'promo' with the guys after class. Tricky tricky...somehow considering to "borrow" some from the university 'since its already part of your tuition fees' or taking a few extra squares from that very bar (paying costumer! hellooo!)...makes alot more sense
by the way..i never buy mayonnaise or ketchup: thats what those little packets are for at fast food chains :) (There is a large bag in my fridge, amongst taco bell hot sauce of course)
* Canned tuna was first produced in 1903, and quickly became popular...and im sure mostly by the dear academic crowd. My appreciation for the Thunnus genus has certainly rised once i have found myself with limited kitchen supplies as well as non existent time to cook to begin with. Im not going to bore u with my ramble on my beloved tuna...but i will add it can be mighty entertaining in the supermarket acting like "Bubba" from Forrest Gump: " Smoked tuna, jalapeno tuna, garlic tuna, diet tuna, Oregano tuna, tuna salad, tuna with palmito...
*the list will continue

You saw this coming

Ok, i admit..its not like she discovered sliced bread..She just is a prime example of fashion ecstasy and proof that when it comes to eye makeup 'the more the better' can really be pulled off splendidly! (and yes im blushing now, since most of the time 'the black fungus' (AKA mascara) around my eyes usually border between transvestite and Goth...
Yet it couldnt be my site without a little Edie splash here and there..
* for those of you who even bothered to click on this link...first of all: thanx..and secondly this psychedelic video is somewhat of a cinematographic collage of scenes of the film Ciao Manhattan (Edie's last film post Warholidum....
and yeah: true story that everyone incl crew was high during the filming ...the 60's: go figure... so remeber:
Shoot for the stars not your arms / Drugs are retarded, so don't get started / Up with hope, down with dope ...
intro (for shits and giggles)
Yes everybody has a blog theese days...and my oh my aren't we all filled with our own opinions & trivial happenings that must be published for the world to see. Im not going to jammer on about my opinion of the meaning of life and death (or at least not without a fine $4 box of chilean wine)...im just going to post stuff that i think is cool..and u should think is cool as well {apparently we shall be starting with sarcasm :) }
and yes: very much so aware that probably nobody is going to read this except for some guy name Greg who was looking up something on Amazon and by bizzar chance ended up here (btw: "hi Greg!") or within a few days or even hours i will have forgotten about the whole shazam.
Peace out
